I would also be interested in an answer to this question. I've been to the website, but still have no clue what the difference is between the shocks. I'd also like to know the difference between Stage 1 & Stage 2. What are the advantages/disadvantages to each type?

Ok I can answer then LOL
The difference in the extreme vs the regular is: The extreme has a 46mm body compared to a 36mm body & the shaft size increases from 10mm to 12mm. Also, the extreme shocks have approx. double oil & gas capacity w/ less shock fade for long runs.

The Stage 2's have double springs for more of a progressive rate
The Stage 1's have a single spring that is more of a linear spring rate.

I got a new set of Stage 2 Extremes today from Ed...these babies are quite a bit larger than the standard version. I am very impressed with these shocks and am hoping they will perform just as well as the original set I had. Ed is the man!!

(I had to get new ones because after 2500 miles of riding, I broke one...so I purchased a new set to keep everything wearing evenly)
