Default Supertrapp Mudslinger Exhaust?

found one of these mufflers that claims to be universal for ATV's from 500-700cc's. since no company is making an exhaust system for the traxters i was thinking of picking one of these up. i realize its probably gonna be a "make it fit somehow" instalation which doesn't bother me and i have a new jet kit to rejet the carb anyway. it claims to be high flow and can add some HP, which i could use lol

my question is anyone have any experience with this exhaust (supertrapp, universal or not) or with "universal" type mufflers in general? i need a new muffler anyway so i figured i'd get one of these.

thanks for your help

I ran a Supertrapp on my 03 Kodiak 400 and on my 04 AC 400i. Good muffler, but being a mudder I clogged the plates (fins) on a fairly regular basis.

Edit: I Googled up the Mudslinger....looks just like a regular "can-type" slip-on....doesn't appear to have the typical Supertrapp adjustable plates. Mine were IDS2 mufflers. I can say that Supertrapp does have excellent quality.

The "true" Supertrapp with the plates can be adjusted for quieter/more backpressure, or louder/less backpressure by adding plates. I don't know about the universal slip-on. Most cans are fairly noisy. If you can get one to look at....if you can see through one end to the other, it's noisy. If it has a baffle and you can not see straight through, it'll be quieter.

I ran one of these on a 05 Kawi BF 750. It had a very deep nice sound to it with the spark arestor installed. However without the spark arestor it got VERY loud !!!
I liked the stainless body of it. It looked really cool hanging under that left fender !!!
Overall I was very happy with it !!

Did a cherry bomb on a '01 traxter years ago, made descent power, used a dynojet kit to tune the carb, ran a k&n filter, it actually worked out quite well! Did the same to a '03 traxter xl, dynomax muffler, same carb kit and filter, it worked good. The traxters like the air filter, carb kit, and exhaust. The hardest part was tuning the carb for a snorkel, man that's going back a few years!
