Default 800r Throttle Wedge Modification?

This thread is directed at people who HAVE messed with their throttle wedge, or those who WANT to learn.

I've done some reading on the wedge on the butterfly in the throttle body, and it seems it's purpose is to make the low throttle positions more controllable, or smoother if you will.

Some people take out the wedge and the throttle becomes very touchy, which could be good or bad depending on your situation.

So what I'm thinking about doing is modifying the wedge, so far I haven't found where anyone has done this, they usually just remove it completely. Then once removed some people re-install it because it's hard to do technical riding with it removed I guess.

Here is what I want to do:

I would like to run an end-mill across the wedge "the short way", it could be 1 large swipe, or 2,3, or 4 smaller swipes depending on the findings in this thread and through further reading. I wouldn't cut through the whole depth of the wedge or anything, mostly taking off the thick portion.

Would this give me a little more throttle response at low throttle positions without going full blown crazy?
Will this screw with the MAP sensor at low throttle positions, if so... in a good (more power) way?

I did that on my old 800. I machined two 1/4" grooves with a ball end-mill to act as passages for the air. It improved the throttle response a lot without making it really touchy.

All and all it's a free mod if you own a 20,000$ milling machine.

He's talking about the wedge on the throttle-body butterfly.

It just makes the first 1/8 of your throttle snappy!
Removing it completly made crawling impossible.
