I can never figure this out. Why hasn't Yamadog put a twin in there Grizz? I know it's probably a cash cow because they haven't really changed the bike in the last 10 years or so. But it's so old school and Yamaha has the smarts to update the engine to something belonging to the 20th century... My brother owns one and it's very dependable but has the sleepy performance of a Honda. Can't get my head around that one. jamie

There are two companies right now that are pissing me off and and its Yamaha and Honda. Two power houses and they have very little interest in the ATV game. If Honda remastered the Rincon and Made it a 800 twin and Yamaha updated the Griz to a 800 twin Can Am and Polaris would be in trouble.

- 2013 Can Am XMR 1000 Yellow.
-2004 Honda Rincon

hondas reliablity is because of the lack of horse power. you put the can am horse power at it and see what breaks on it. my 800 xt and my kawasaki priarie are very reliable. what breaks is cause of the way i CAN ride them. maybe not how they were intended. lol

I agree with that to a point, but the lack of horsepower is not 100% the reason for reliability.

If Honda wanted to they could stomp the life out of Can Am. Lets face it Honda is a multi billion dollar company that has a collasal automotive division as well as Acura. Their motorcycle division is HUGE! Their power equipment division (pumps, lawnmowers and generators ie) are huge and legendary reliability. I was talking to a Honda engineer a couple of years ago and he said their atv division is the smallest of the divisions and has the smallest budget.

If Honda wanted to dominate the atv world they could so could Yamaha.

Edit just a side note: Honda did a $107 Billion dollars in business in 2011 according toWikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda

- 2013 Can Am XMR 1000 Yellow.
-2004 Honda Rincon
