Like I said I would stay away from any link he sent and would not call. It could be one of those high toll numbers so be careful. The only way i know to call is go to contact page and they do a security check and call you. https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/he..._contact-phone

I don't understand WHY would you follow a link to set up a paypal account. Just go to paypal.com it takes 5 minutes. NEVER follow a link and give personal info. It's internet 101. You are on your own now.

never trust links sent by someone else. ive had links to "ebay" pages that were dead on to the real thing but if you look closely there was minor differences in the address. after contacting ebay and sending them the links i was told that they were bogus. also the whole oil rig and can't come or am a soldier over seas and can't come have been well known fraud lines. not saying this is a fraud attempt but you allways have to be over careful on the internet. believe it or not people are trying to rip you off out there!!! lol

They call it phishing and paypal is probably the #1 site it's done on. I use to get it all the time with a link wanting me to log in and straighten out something with my account. All there trying to do is get your username and password.
