Honda 300 FourTrax Oil & Filter?

My son picked up a 1999 Honda 300 CC ATV FourTrax. It did not come with the owners manual. Questions are, what motor oil did they put in these? And is there an oil filter, if so, where is it located. Quick look I did not see one or a location for it.
Local dealer went out of business recently.....

They take 2.3 quarts of 10w40 as per the manual. The oil filter is located behind a fliter cover just to upper right of the oil fill/dipstick. The cover has three bolts which hold it in place. K&N filter #HA-3098 Fram #CH6015 you should be able to find the filter at autopart stores or places like fleet farm. Make sure you get atv oil that is meant for wet clutch use don't use automotive oil.

and keep your rear end oil clean/water free. They seem to be the weakest link if you can call it one.

Thanks guy's, I'll be dealing with this ATV this week...
I guess it needs rear breaks also. I did get the Valoline ATV 10-40 oil.
