Cummins hands down. Some Ford guys try to claim they get 18ish but in real driving settings the ford is 10-14. That year of cummins with exhaust and programmer at highest would be 24ish but in reality 18-20.

Dodge's have always gotten the best mileage with diesel trucks. Can't say what the newest ones are like compared to the competition running DEF. My experience is based on the 5.9L trucks. The older they are the better mileage they get too. 89?-98 12 valve trucks all get 26-30+ MPG. 98-02 24v's get 20-25+, 03-07.5 around 20 or so.

I think everyone will agree that Dodge has be best motor. No sense even talking about the rest of , you'll just get biased opinions. My own included

I do like the new Ford's but I can't believe they built a brand new motor from the ground up and made ANOTHER V8 diesel. Six in a row is the only way to go.

5.9L but don't base your decision on displacement.
