A buddy of mine e-mailed me that last week. That is just freaking scary when you really think about it.

Stereo lithography is coming a long way, some of the parts we make are developed using this technology. You can "test fit and function" parts before actually making one.

3d modeling is cool but pricey software, our next CNC will have to have it.
We need a bigger building before we get any more machines though.....totally out of space and electrical "feed".

I have watched this no less than a half dozen times
Just think of the uses, as an I/E for a pipeline company I purchase close to a million dollars a year in replacement equipment, Imagine as you purchase that equipment scan it and file it away, then next time you need one, just print it, no shipping and you have it in an hour and a half

Oh and let me jump on my soap box for a second, thanks obama, we dont need a space program, things that come from it are useless lol
idiot

We have 2 Fused Deposition Moldelers (FDM) in our dept. where I work that build using ABS plastic. The lower end machines are fairly economical and easy to operate. Pretty much dump in the 3d model and away they go.

The possibilities are endless. They even do gov. jobs.
