07 Outlander 800 cutting out

1116 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Rikter
I have a 07 outlander and when I ride it around and get it to operating temp it likes to cutout when I give it full throttle. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump but don't know for sure. I just want to get a second opinion on this before I buy one. And there is no check engine light either when it dose this.

These fuel pumps are famous for being weak. A fuel pressure guage will help the diagnosis. Mine would quit when hot or just bog out at anything more than 3/4 throttle. The replacement fuel pump from NAPA for a Toyota is the one to get. It will take an afternoon to remove & replace but not difficult at all. I took the opportunity to insulate EVERYTHING. Tank, fuel lines, filter etc. right up to the injectors.
