I purchased a 13' outty xt-p 1k last fall with 1600 miles and have been slowly going through it and trying to build it up into a rock solid machine. I have had several gen1 800's but this is my first gen2 and want to build a turn key no worry machine for several thousand miles.
Here is a list of what I have done so far:

Full fluid change with synthetics
Twin air filter
New ball joints-BRP
American star tie rods
Garage products a-arm bushings
Race driven brake pads
Heat sink around steering motor
26" GBC dirt tamer tires w/ 1" spacers on stock bead locks
Replaced leaking front diff seal with new wear ring
Inspected diff bearings and u-joints and all seem tight

Mainly going to be a full on trail bike with some very little mud but deep water may be possible. Not a fan of snorkels in our group to keep 100% stock look. Still planning on a few more upgrades:

XMR exhaust outlet for better water capability
Skid plates
Route water pump weep hole hose to pod
Roto pax fuel pack or mountain addiction fuel cans
New belt.....still deciding
Valve adjustment
Dielectric grease all connections

Wanting to do but need more info:

Fan override
Lighting
Clutching if needed
Air box cover improved sealing
Hand and thumb warmers

Looking for more suggestions or other needed upgrades that these bikes need. Thanks in advance.

Solid list. The only thing I would do different is not run the weep hose up. I had mine that way then realized that I wouldn't notice a leak until it was dripping out from the pod. Then I read it happened to another member. I put the short hose back on with a check valve on the end. If it ever goes to leaking, it will drip on floor right under the bike. Easy to see. :smilietwocents:

Has anyone made a simple mod for the CVT exhaust?

BRP kit. Its the only thing that you wont have pvc pipes hanging up and out of the pod. Thats as far as I know. Im sure someone has but the problem is is that the XMR intake is run under the front rad cover and the exhaust is run to where the intake is on a normal outty.
You could probably do the XMR parts but you would also have to do the radiator kit as well.
How deep of water are you talking about? With the BRP kit your exhaust will probably be in the 35-36" range.

On my xtp it's under the side plastic and pumps the hot air on the exhaust. I was wondering if there is a way to mod the CVT exhaust to the pod
