Have you adjusted them to see if there is a difference?

Depends on where it is set now. Are you maxed out in either direction? If you have adjustment use it. I would try it before sending them out for repair. Start with the simple things first.
I don't have adjustment on my atv but my sled just a couple of clicks makes a big difference. I have 50 clicks of adjustment on my sled.

my guess is that if you haven't adjusted them from new, you are not going to gain much. they come REALLY stiff, almost unusable from the factory. the first thing you do with a Xxc is adjust the preload and start softening the ride.
if you have lots of miles on your bike, chances are, they need to be re-valved. Some say every year or two.

They recommend on my snowmobile shocks to change the oil every year.

Well i cranked in the high speed compression all the way stiff just to see if it would help at all. it stiffened up a little bit but i am still able to bottom the front end out. and the back shocks are extremely stiff. i also bought the quad used so i don't know what he did to them. the quad has 800km on it are any ones soft??
it even seems soft in cornering

for dive in the corners, that is the low speed compression. The high speed will help with the landing on a jump, the initial impact from a wheelie, and the little rocks/impacts thru the trail.
where is the preload set?

That's about where I have mine. About 1" from the top. That is set VERY soft. But I like a nice soft ride. I have my high speed compression out as soft as it will go, then about 1 turn clockwise. Low speed is turned down pretty low and same with my rebound.
If you are more than 200LBS, you may want to tighten the preload.
Definitely loosen the high speed compression, that must be horrible set like that.
And it sounds like you need to tighten your low speed some.

If you find that they do need a rebuild call Ian. He does a lot of work on sled suspension for people in Canada. He is great to deal with. Tell him you got his name on the can am forum
