The dealer has both of these at the same price and I was wondering what are the pros and cons of each

2012 800XT = 75 LBS heavier & soft suspension, bigger radiator to stay cool, lots of new year bugs, new frame geometry for better handling, better brakes
2011 Xxc = Lighter, nimble, ride you can not imagine how comfortable and stable at any speed, crappy brakes, crappy undersized radiator

I would take the 2011 Xxc any day just for the suspension. You can add an additional radiator a LOT cheaper than new suspension.

2011 xxc. Better suspension, proven chassis, lots of aftermarket parts, sounds great

2012 XT. Softer more Sunday cruise type suspension, new design with first year bugs, more rider comfort, unable to take as big of tires as 2011 without lift.

If I was buying I would get the xxc

I'm having the same debate...and am leaning on trying to find a leftover Outty Xxc to replace my wifes 07 King quad 700 for her. Mine is the best handling atv I've owned in my life and from everything I'm reading on the G2 Outty - it needs shocks and feels "tall and boaty" The Outty Xxc is awesome!

The 2012 chassis is great! The suspension, add in some 1" aluminum billet spring spacers and take care of the soft ride!
You will then fit bigger tires no problem with a little trimming.

I'd say it really depends on what you plan on using it for, out here in Sask, a lot of riders go right to the mud holes and water crossings, works great.
