heres the scoop, when i bought my xmr the sales manager told me the rear seat was about 600.00. but he said he would get it for me for 500.00. so he calls me and says he has to call the brp rep to see if they have a whole seat assy, i guess he found out that it was going to cost him money, does anyone have the part no's for the components since the other dealers can't seem to find the stuff thanks,

Well not quite. When I was at the Can Am demo day I pulled the XMR up beside the Max Limited and there are two pins that are on the base plate that the seat clips to. The XMR does not have those pins. But the good news is I'm sure its not that hard to add the pins.

I have a 2012 XMR with the max seat. The dealer had to order the seat parts and assemble it all. It was a ton of parts, as you can tell from the 2013 diagram! I was told that BRP did that on purpose. They want to make it difficult to get. They think that the XMR is a single seater even though it is made on the max frame

my dealer said the brp rep said that the seat being a new design, all the available parts are being used for the max machines and all parts will eventually be available,

I was wondering the same thing about a rear seat for a 2013.
$2,000.00 for a seat, what a bunch $hit! :th_smiliepissed:

Hopefully there's an aftermarket one in the $400 - $500 range.

Here are a few pics of the seat on the XMR before we left. Everything worked great except for the tire rubbing once the wife was added. Think a spring spacer will do the trick to fix that one. The last pic is the wife using the backrest as a pillow on one of our stops!

Hey! That really doesn’t look half bad! As a matter of fact, I like your overall set up with the cargo box, rail mod and fuel cans. Very sweet setup as a point vehicle!
Did you try adjusting the setting on the air shocks to compensate for the wheel rubbing?

I bought the seat from a one of the guys I met on here. He sold his XMR and still had the seat that he bought from the same dealer my bike came from. If you could find a deal like that, i would suggest trying it first. If not, the dealer is about the only other option I could find. I was told ~700 bucks from them. One guy in Columbia, SC said $1000. I laughed at him! The other stuff...rack extensions, cargo bag, and rotopax can all came from ATV outfitters. Those guys are great and they have very competitive prices. I recently sold a set of Zillas to a guy on craigslist and he needed some wheels. I gave him their number. He called me the next day to thank me for telling me about them. He said he ordered the wheels that afternoon around 2 and had them at his house before 9 the next morning for way cheaper than any other set of wheels he had ever bought! He said he didn't realize how bad he was being ripped off by everyone else until he bought from them! Thanks too for the complement!
The wheels and tires came from ATV Outfitters too! When I had the 10 hour service done the guy at the dealership quoted me almost $1000 bucks for S/W OL2s! He told me they were impossible to find and all sorts of other stuff. I talked to Matt the day before that and he was WAY cheaper and had plenty of tires! I love some of the "experts" at the Stealership!

Well i just had a win with a rear seat for my 2012 XMR I usually buy 90% of my motorcycle parts from America as It's a ton cheaper however after being quoted $1000 delivered to Australia i decided to try my local bike shop and what do you know he quoted me $479 i accepted straight away and got him to order it ASAP. I'll keep you updated if the price is right or he's made a mistake.

Not sure about the 12's but on the 13's the MAX seat WILL WORK..should be the same though.....regardless of what the dealer tells you it WILL WORK. And you can get a MAX seat from the dealer complete for approx $600. The ONLY difference is 4 pins that hold the seat down to the quad. And if you take off the plastic cover you can actually find the right size steel bolts to go in the steel brackets already in place instead of the "pins" on the MAX. So for less than $5 you can retro fit the MAX seat to your XMR. :D Hope that helps.

So a 13' MAX seat will fit on a 13' XMR, except for the pins that hold it in place, which can be substituted with bolts, correct?
Might have to look on E-bay for a 13' Max seat.

Thanks for the info!
