So the p drive won't really have anything to do with how it shifts other than there will be no friction washer. It just has a sealed needle bearing the belt rides on.

There will be no need for the Can-Am hump. It is the same engine with integrated gearbox as the hd7 defenders and looking at the parts diagram it will shift smooth like the big defenders. It may take a light hump to get in park just because it has to fall into a cog but all others gears will be perfect.

It will be interesting to see what they use for a secondary. The hd7 defenders use a slider helix style. So the helix rides on two little plastic slider shoes. Kawi and Polaris have used these in the past and they are do wear out so you wanna keep an eye on them. Im aure they will pry use it in the outty 700s.

Would have been much better if they used the 3 roller defender/x3 secondary that is adjustable.

O well can't have everything if your gonna keep the price down.

Very informative and helpful as usual! Thank you.

Can you please tell us a bit more about this integrated design. I know nothing about it.

Yah unfortunately it is just a similar design to what the Yamaha 700 and Kingquad 750 are. The gearbox cases are part of the crankcase of the engine.

Its not a terrible design but if something happens in the gearbox/transmission then you have to tear apart the whole top end to get to it vs on the vtwins you could work on them separately.

Usually the gearboxes in most BRP stuff are solid so its really not an issue just not how I would have preferred it.

What I find funny is, a lot of these new ATVs have things that for years BRP made a mock of. BRP IMO is going to eat a lot of crow for these old/new designed ATVs. Yes it will finally put pressure on companies like Honda to adjust the over price Rubicon 520.

I am actually not sure why they didn't keep the trailing arm setup? It will be interesting to see if they put trailing arms on this "g3" if they put the vtwins in it.

To increase the rear travel I would assume that the trailing arms have to get longer, which also increases the wheel base length.
I too found it interesting that they went away from the torsion arm rear suspension.

Something I just noticed today: All the new machines from the 2wd on up, have a square tire set-up! I find that shocking. I can see it on the high-end models like the Pro and Xmr but all of them? Even Yamaha reserves it for their top-of-the-line Grizzly Xtr only and nobody else that I am aware of even offers it.

I don't think that is the case (Square Tire Set-up)

I was watching many of the videos on YouTube that are showing the new machines during the Texas Can-Am or ATV show or something. I will post below my findings:

1. I saw the following which shows a new design for the inner fenders. Pretty interesting design with fins for better cooling.

Pretty similar to what I did here 😂 : NEW side vent panels part numbers

2. The max seat is now integrated into the rider's seat. They are now 1 piece. I don't like that at all since any tear in the leather now will mean either having to replace the whole thing which will probably cost as much as a mortgage or having to settle for repairing it. The previous separate design was better overall I believe. Less liability and more versatility in case you don't have someone riding behind you and you want to leave that seat at home.

3. Is this an easy release for the side panel so you can service the machine more easily rather than having to take it almost all apart just to get to the oil filter or gearbox plugs?

4. Rear suspension setup for those wondering. Double A-arm setup. Did we say all these bushings are now sealed and don't take grease? 😅 More money for GarageProducts to make?

5. Is this a metal tube? Is it part of the new G3L chassis?

Feel free to post more of your findings with photos and details.

Polaris sealed bushings are junk, and all the ones I get in, the low arms have an insane amount of play in 1500 miles of easy driving. The Can-Am ones I have seen look like a nice solid bushing more automotive like. Time will tell if they last.

Just watched a cut away view of the 700 engine in the outtys and they are using a roller style secondary. So that was good to see.

I saw that video on the engine as well. Oil filter will be nice as long as that panel pops off as easy as they say it will. I have seen it off on the left side, not the right yet. And of course, I have not seen anyone actually removing it to see how easy it is, that would've been nice.

Anyone get a clear understanding of the "speed limiter". They are making it sound like a cruise control. "..and a new speed limiter that will make jobs like spraying easier" How? Because you can set a max speed then keep the throttle pegged with your thumb so it will always go 3 mph?

Looks like the seat, backrest, and handles are three separate pieces. That'll be a pain for the Max riders to pull it.

I am waiting for the European prices to drop. To see if it will compete with CF moto and other brands prices, like the Outlander L 500 when it came out. It started at 9 000USD and it got to 11 000 USD over the time
2023 prices for Finland was about 1000-2000€ more then 2022. So 570 xu+ max start price from bottom only 13090€ and 650 xu+ max start price 16390€... short and long different is about. 1000€... they have some drop to if they want to compete other brands..

Have seen the 2023 prices too... upper madness. But every brand has gone up in price tbh. looked at grizzlys and they are from 14 000 € (but not in stock) and if they have them in stock they are not shy to ask 17 000 € for them. and 625 CF moto's go for 9 500€ 570 Sportsman start at about 10 700€(that would be a fair price for the new Outlander )

Looked up Segway in our country and the price is the same, seems like they are the only one's to go down with the price. When i remember a few years back the 600's CF moto's and TGB's did cost the same.
