I just picked up my 2025 Outlander Max 1000R

I still have it on my trailer and have not had a chance to ride it. One problem I have already detected is that it occasionally will not start unless the brake lever is squeezed...other times it will start without squeezing the brake lever.
When it does not start (starter motor does not engage), the rest of the electrical system is on and operating. I took it back to the dealer and they said it must be a new safely feature Can Am included for 2025.This explanation sounded made up to me. If it's a safely feature, why does this occur only occasionally? Can anyone with a 2025 comment one way or another. My previous 2013 Outlander Max 1000 started in Neutral or Park without having to squeezing the brake.

Another issue is the front trunk latch only latches on one side and there is no adjustment.
Pretty poor start for a $17,000 ATV.

If the front trunk is anything like the one on my 2024 700XT MAX, make darned sure it is latched 100%. Mine flew off and hit me in the head at 50 mph! Dealer had to replace the battery early on under warrantee. It does start in neutral and park, though.

A follow up to this. I noticed that when shifting to park I was getting a dash on the display instead of P. I called my dealer and asked if I should try adjusting the linkage and they said go for it. I loosened the nut on the linkage and there is a slot in the shift linkage. I moved the linkage at the gearbox and felt the detent engage, then tightened the linkage nut. Same issue, no P showing up. Then I started the machine and started cycling the shifter back and forth and finally the P started showing up when I was in park. My opinion is the Park switch needed to work in a little bit. Now it is working every time.

That’s not the case unfortunately.

I’ve seen and heard from a few guys now that they indeed do have to rock the G3’s to get it in gear/switch gears.

Some of you guys surely use the machines different from what I do, but only time I’ve had that happen to my G2’s is when the drivetrain is under load and you get stuck, say for example when plowing snow and hitting a wall of snow, it’s like the tension from the drivetrain isn’t released which makes it harder to shift. Otherwise, never happens.
