A kit will get you some, but a full replacement primary clutch will get you the most. We carry the QSC primary and it's one of the best out there. Others that are popular are VFJ, STM, and CV tech.
try 2koolperformance.com and email Brent with the part number he gets cheap shipping and duty. lowest prices i've found in canada. great guy to deal with
so I have heard the qsc primary is awesome,,so replace the stock primary with qsc but leave the secondary stock?
You can replace just the primary. The STM secondary does shift faster and smoother and get rid of the whining and clunking in the stock clutching too. It's great for really hard/fast trail riders and mud riders. For the average family touring the trails, not worth the upgrade IMO. You can always add the secondary later too if you aren't happy with just the primary.
Right on thnx so much
so after doing sum research and hearing that the stm is good for fast tral and mud,,this is the set up I want,so just correct me if im wrong,,,to really wake up my 650 xmr and be a good fast paced trail and mud machine, a good set up is the qsc full replacement primary and stm secondary?,,anybody running this set up on there xmr let me know what u think and how the 2 work together,,thx for the help too
Can anybody chime in on a dalton kit vs qsc kit,, a whole primary seems a little to expensive, thnx
Kit for kit you will get about the same gains between QSC and Dalton. QSC weights are smoother and less jerky on engagement. It's the whole primary that makes the real difference.
thnx rvsperformance, appreciate all the clutch help,,
well just thought id let yas know I ordered the Dalton DBO650,i think ill be happy with it,best bang for buck I think,$216 plus tax canadian at my dealer, cant wait to get it installed and wake up the bottom end a bit, especially in low where most people say it really makes the difference, which is where ya want it,,ill give a full review after a few rides for anybody thinking of the same kit for the 650 xmr,
I'm new to the atv world. I just picked up a 650 XMR and I am on a budget to get every bit of power. I have heard putting new clutch springs in is a good way and it is about $75- $100. If this is the cheaper way to go could someone post a link of a good one to get? Thank you for the help.
Im really happy with my dalton clutch kit,, its imo the best bang for your buck,,, its called dbo 650,, u can pick it up at your local dealer or ebay,, any other questions just pm me or ask this thread

Awesome, and am I right in saying this will give me more low end power and decrease my top end?

It will give u more bottom end, u will notice it the most in low gear, and when set up properly for your tire size it doesnt affect top end, atleast that what dalton says and with mine I can still hit 105km hr so there right
It was $250 taxes in canadian at my local can am dealer
Tough to beat for that price. Dalton is my first choice for clutching in all my snowmobiles and a very close second in atvs.
