I haven't had to do any major repairs on mine yet. I've done a handful of mods to make it how I want it. Not sure what to think about modifying the front propeller shaft boot. Right now I'm just going to ride it and see what happens.

We have to fix this or we'll tow snow implement for 1 K and it will pop put again so it will get it modified this summer or we will not tow any snow implements. We have little confidence in the boots holding it in. Few 6x6 folks have this grief.

I got this 6x6 new this last October which is winter for us in the Fairbanks area. I chose not to get any extended warranty.

Let my boys take it to the drill camp where they work to run it and put some hard miles on while it still had factory warranty. And run it they did.

Took it to Chitna to get my red salmon and noticed the front wheels did not work when engaged. When I got it home found the left outer cv joint had broke. The small end of the boot was spinning on the axle and had no signs that the joint was damaged.

Decided to up grade the axles to something a little stronger. Didn't like the idea of loosing one side and having nothing in the front. Will be using this as a hunting rig in the back country.

Looked at all the options for locking the front diff and decided the Torq lock was the best option for me. Mainly for price but also for the fact I do not drive fast and only will have the front locked when it is necessary.

Noted that the beds cover for the tool storage compartment is bent from heat while working in the winter time. Seems I need to knock (drill) a few holes in it to help air flow through the storage area.

Bummer, but address it now, don't wait until it becomes a major problem.
If you go back in this thread, it blew out twice last winter and took a month or more for the parts to show. That was under warranty but its really going to get fixed this time.

We went to work on this on Monday and had planed to take pics of everything but I ended up in the hospital to take my appendix out. The fellow didn't take many photos. It wasn't all that hard a job and after figured we out the propeller shaft float distance, he cut a round plug from some reinforced rubber belting. This stuff was quite stiff, fiber reinforced, black and 1/2 an thick. He thought that 5/8 thick might have worked but this thickness barley got together. This 1 inch wide plug was put in the rear coupler to limit is movement. All three mounting bolts were removed from the differential and one was removed from the engine mount and the right stabilizer. After the plug and grease was added, it was reassembled.
