A knocking sound appeared in the new 2024 Outlander XTP 1000 T3 engine. It's been running for only 11 hours. The dealer says it's normal. All the latest models of this series have this issue. The manufacturer changed something during assembly. The old models didn't have this issue. The engines worked without this noise. I don't like it. The noise appears after the engine heats up. It works fine when cold. What could it be and is it a manufacturing defect? What would you advise? I'll try to upload a video to clearly show how the engine works. There's a noise somewhere on the right side, where the cylinders are located. This issue has been discussed here before.

That definitely seems excessive. Maybe have another dealer look at it?

It seems newer ones do make this noise but I don't think any part numbers have changed. Try a blank-50w oil. See how it changes it the noise. Or just drive it like you stole it and dealer will fix it if it blows up.
