A little venting....

So I'm changing all the fluids in my 2013 Outlander and I find the rear gear oil plug is stripped. I bought it from dealer. Annoying. They supposedly did the 10 hour service on it. I'm sure I'll get it out but.... :th_smiliepullhair:

And I ordered a complete brake set...and received 2 set of rears and 1 front. Now granted, it probably doesn't need fronts now but....annoying. I bought the brakes from some reccomendation on this site and that was in the spring. I did check the #'s and when I saw 2 of the same and 1 different I assumed they were correct. Not even sure where I got them...not worth the aggravation in trying to swap them out.

The Garage Products bushings are going in well though. Back is done. Although to be honest the original didn't look bad at all. 600 miles on machine.

Skid plates going on tomorrow.

No excuse for stripped plugs...pure haste, waste and laziness. But who knows if it's the dealer or previous owner.

Drill, tap, carefully vacuum all shavings. Oversized plug.
For brake pads you need 1 left and 2 right sets. The second set of rights is for the rear. I think that's what you have.
Great! Thanks for info on brakes. I was thinking it could be that but I don't have the front tires off yet.

And I bought the machine from dealer with 200 miles on it. It was loaned to a racetrack as a support vehicle. Never transferred ownership. They did the work on it. And its stripped where the hex is. So its fixable. But still annoying!!!!
good luck with your machine, yes frustrating no matter who did it lol
Wait, you did a brake job at 600 miles? I've heard the Can-am brakes don't last long, the old mans 550 Grizz with over 7,000 miles are still in the original brakes.
Ha ha...yes on the brake job. The rear were down to the metal. Very common. Both pads. Fronts are probably fine.
Well, I've heard it enough times to know what I have to look forward to, oh well ;) Hey, I think I read a post where someone was talking about a different brand of pads that last longer than stock, what were they?
