trying to change boots on my 2011 outlander. don't have a place to get the spanner socket for the trailing arms, within 2 hours of me. is their a way to change the cv boots without loosening the trailing arm?

You don't loosen the trailing arm to pull the axle. Youtube it. Couple of good vids that should get you straight.

I've replaced 3 boots in the last year. Jack up bike. never mind...I found it. Youtube can am rear diff removal. The guys name Amos Langford. Excellent vid. Trust me you don't need a spanner socket.

Ditto to that. Unbolt both rear shocks and carefully lower the trailing arms. You can then get the axle out. Had to do it myself last year.

Youtube has definitely made life better!
