Belt slipping (not wet) 2011 outlander max 800r

Hello all... I have seen so many posts about belts slipping and burning and 99% of them come to the same conclusion... water getting in or clutch kit required....

This is not my case... I have an 800 Outlander Max 800 (2011, G1)

- I run 28's on 14" rims. (Maxxis Big Horn 2.0 & ITP SS212's)

- I have a Dalton Clutch kit. (Correct model and set up)

- I use the HD BRP Belts. (HAve tried others but found BRP to be the best so far.)

- The Belt cover is sealed and NEVER gets wet. ( I have inspected it many times)

I can clearly hear the belt slipping and squealing when I'm really torquing the machine getting over obstacles or trying to get unstuck from mud.

Then if I don't back off the throttle the good old familiar smell of burning rubber fills the air. :)

Any thoughts???

I thought of that too.... So far looks good... I've cleaned off the insides of the clutch with brake cleaner & soft wool... (Then rubbing alcohol)

I'm thinking it may be time for a new primary and or secondary as they get very shinny very fast.

All of the "CURES" mentioned are Band Aids, they help but will not stop the bleeding.
The clutches with those symptoms are {SLIPPING}.
The outer sheave is playing catch up with the inner and creating excessive heat and belt slip leading to eventual belt failure.
Reason is simple, the mating cones have to little surface and are at to steep an angle to hold the applied forces under load. Locking them will stop the slipping and all of the problems related to it.
Clutch kits are designed to get all the available HP to the ground but they cannot do so if the clutch is not doing it's part.
Locking the clutch gets the available HP to the ground and the clutch kits match the HP, Torque to the demands of the rider resulting in better backshifting under loads and holding the rpm in the most advantageous torque range, none of which can be accomplished if the clutch is slipping.
Happy to send a Lock up Mod info sheet to anyone interested, PM here or e-mail to uatvtech@gmail.com

You know what the difference between 'rubbing' alcohol and pure isopropyl (IPA) alcohol is? The oil added to the rubbing stuff. You'd be better off grabbing a bottle of isopropyl or the red bottle of HEET.
