Disconnect the shocks on BOTH sides. The axle can be removed without touching the trailing arms/torsion bar. It's tight but it will come out.

the strap tecnique works well, but its hard to do without pulling the trailing arm

Ive used the strap on stuck axles with good results, but you must tap it back in between swings to work on a stuck one
especially a rzr front axle

my way.... may be wrong but it works for me.

lift the rear of the atv, remove the tires & top shock bolt (both sides), remove the cotter pin and break the hub bolt loose, but leave it on all the way. with the trailing arms completely extended down give the traiing arm a slight stomp with your foot, it my take 2 trys to get the right amout of force, then the axle will slightly pullout loose from the rear end. grab the inside portion of the axle(slip joint side) and force it torwards the wheel hub until the slip joint is fully compressed. then the axle will fit with a little wiggling towards the front and down and out. next remove the hub bolt and hub slide the axle out of the bearing and it is out.

hope this helps

Can't understand that. I use a 20oz ball peen and strap and usually have it out in the first swing or two. Only thing holding the axle in is a cir clip. You could try popping the other axle out and use a good size brass punch and drive it out that way. Be sure your punch is on the end of the axle and not the diff gears and I wouldn't whale on it either.
