My kids friend was riding our DS 90 recently and suddenly came over to tell me gas was leaking from it. Sure enough there were two rubber hoses in the front wheel well that were leaking gas. One hose looks torn but the other has a clean- cut end and looks to be a breather hose- but both were leaking gasoline. So I don’t know what these hoses are for and how to repair. Any tips?
This image is from a stock DS 90 to compare. One hose does indeed look like a breather hose but why would mine be leaking gasoline out of it…? Just because the other hose is torn? What is the other hose?
I don't know those little bikes, but if it's carbureted, those are likely bowl/carb overrun drain hoses.
When the float/needle sticks or loses seal, the fuel will continue running into the carb from the tank. Overflow hoses are to keep that gas from getting into the crankcase via the cylinder
