BRP Flasher and Horn Kit - need pics of button mounted & info

Can someone please post or forward a pic of the BRP flasher and horn kit mounted? Just the button, trying to see where it mounts.

Also, has anyone mounted this kit on a 650? All the parts manuals only seem to show an 800 mounting.

(ATV's are road legal here...)

Thanks

Europe is also streetlegal , but we got a complete different switch assy on the left handlebar.

Image

Top to bottom :
Turn the grey "wheel" --> hi/low headlamps
left black --> horn
right green --> engine start
grey "bar" --> left/right turn signals
red "bar" --> kill switch

not in the pic because of the backside of the switch assy :
reverse override / DPS switch
hazard turn signals

In my opinion, you should try to get the european style switches. They look better and handle easier, cauz the turn signal switch is "integrated".

Just my 2 cents.....

My 06 is just like Ices bike and im in Spain. No idea what yours is demolition but I don't think is a can am kit
It is official ! It is standard since 2010 for official european model with CoC documents (Certificate of Conformity).

Till 2009 they also look like the switches Ice-Can-Am posted, etc.

So if anyone interested in those switch assy's, look out for modelyear 2010 on a 650 or 500 outty, EUROPE version. NOT the 800 they got still different styles !

Awesome guys thanks. Now I'll do some digging to see if I even have the harness connections on the 650. I somehow suspect they cheaper out and didn't include them.

Wish BRP was like BMW Motorrad, we get the European spec bikes here in Canada (for whatever reason) so we get all the near cool stuff that for some reason manufacturers think Americans don't want... strange, everyone likes toys!

I've asked my dealer to dig into the online parts system, will see what they come back with.

Thanks

Well that looks like a lost cause... just looked at the 2012 parts listing (thanks for posting!) and sure enough, the European model has a different harness which incorporates all the turn signals... so it's a super major pain to install on mine.

Grrr, damn cheap Quebecois Engineering Dept. (or Marketing Dept.) lol.

Just FYI, from 09 the switches look like on the pic posted by Demo here in Norway. Imo it suck big time. I hate the hi/low beam switch, however the '11 and newer models has another style that is much better and looks more like what you would find in motorcycles(better hi/low switch).
The partnumber for the switch assembly(latest model) is 710001922. It fit straight on older EC models to btw.
The flasher/horn kit should fit straight on non EC models to even without the EC main harness, you just has to do a little bit more cable work.

Demolition's is BRP European turning signal/horn switch and the type previous "generation".

I was prepared to get setup like his

but in mail I got the new "generation"

Both are BRP switches and will replace the original switch.

I ordered mine from my dealer here in States so it is available in both sides of the ocean.

Like Smaug said, harness work is another story itself but it is not pain as I did it to mine.

Awesome! That is a MUCH nicer switch.

With regards to the harness work etc, is the BRP kit self contained? ie. add 12v and go?

I was wondering where the flasher module was installed etc.

---

Can you post a little more info on how you installed it? I assume the switch is no CAN-BUS then, which makes things a little easier.

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

I was communicating with DemoMan on some other stuff and noticed his lights; I had no idea you could put blinkers/horns on these things and integrate it all nicely with a new control on the handlebar.

Can you share the BRP part numbers, or what I need to get to get some nice tail-light blinkers, front-end lights in those little holes where there's just a space for a light to be installed, and a horn?

Any information would be awesome before I go the expensive trial/error method, which isn't fun...

Thanks All, have a great weekend!

Ok,

So I did some digging and found the following CanAm online Parts book. If you provide your email, get access to the parts book, narrow down on your bike, I found a European Electrical Accessories page that includes the switch shown above, the front-lower lights, and the rear lights which I'm thinking are blinkers as well. The pictures sort of look like what I noticed on DemoMan's machine...awesome machine.

Now, can anyone say with any confidence any of this stuff will fit on an US version of the bike, say, a 2012 Outlander 650 XT?

Argh, Thanks IceCanAm, I just noticed that when I took a second look... Rookie mistake.

I hope Kleinbus chimes in again; sounds like he has US bike and took a shot at getting the Euro light harness and control installed... Sounds like a fun project, I hope I can get enough input to figure it out...

Have a great weekend!

Hey Sal,

just drop "kleinbus" a PM if he doesn't chime in. I sent you a PM also, regarding where to get those Borbet CW rims in germany. Don't know, if they would be sold from some delers in the US, but you can have a look at the online shop from the german seller. They also provide their website in english, so perhaps they will sell those rims to you, BUT I think the shipping will be a little bit expensive.
If you have luck, they could provide you an US distributor or something else.

I had the 2012 switch fitted on my 2011 Renegade. Unfortunaty they left the hazard switch mounted in the dash. Anybody know which colour wire the return from the hazard switch is?
Thanks
