It is a direct bolt on for the earlier Outlander to use the XMR cover which has more bolts so it should be the same.

Gates Carbon Drive System is the only lubricant-free, non-stretch belt & pulley bicycle system is this true . I am not sure about this .

You need the whole set up so you need the backing plate as well.
