Changing the oil on a 500 XT

I'm looking at getting a ATV & was wondering how difficult it is to change the oil on one of these machines. I'm an auto mechanic & fix everything I own, but I've never had an ATV. I know my Ski-doo 4 stroke is very easy to do, so i'm sure this machine is similar. Can somebody point me in the right direction as to what all needs to be done. I use doo-talk for my sled repairs & if this site is anything like it, I will find it very helpful. I'm a new be so go easy on me, I'm sure I'll ask looks of dumb question, thanks guys.

Welcome to the site.

Engine oil, not to big a job, tranny oil is a bit of PITA. Front diff relatively easy, rear diff, not quite as easy. 16 grease nipples, 1 on each universal joint on the rear shaft, 1 on each side of the swaybar bushing plus 1 at each joint in the swaybar linkage, 1 on each front A arm bushing. Best to keep them greased up more often then the manual recommends, every 75 to 150 miles depending on the terrain. Best thing is to buy or down a service manual, worth it's weight in gold IMHO.
Changing oil I found was simple but kinda a pain to get at the filter. First you have to take off the seat and pop off the side plastics before getting at the oil filter this process can be quite annoying.
Thanks guys , I was able to find a you tube video of this so it showed me a few of the basic things to look for.
I change the gearbox fluid when I'm chancing the oil. It's easier to do it when you already have the bodywork off.
