a arm covers are not included. The skid plate underneath is PVC type material. You can replace it with aluminum. Sounds like you have all the right parts, in all the places.

Thanks for the answer, but seems a little misleading when you can only find the aluminum full skid plate (including the A arm cover) in the catalog.

they offer aluminum skid plates for the entire underneath of the machine, but sadly it only comes with the plastic. I have the 2017 hd10 xt and haven't had any issues with the plates yet, even thought they're only plastic they seem adequate thus far.

your correct it is PVC step one: increase your pre load to setting two at least (you'll thank me), step two get a 2" or 3" lift kit, step three get bigger tires and rims (15R x 30") at least, step four get offset a arms with some lift, or simply pay $1500 for the full aluminum skid plate and crank your pre load to three.
Second run out I put a rock into my pvc floor from using the factory pre load setting of one there was to much travel and it bottomed out on the rock.

 

Howdy, the 2016 middle I purchased factory new came with a steel full bottom skid plate and steel front skid plate. Had to purchase aluminum a-arm protectors.
