Lots of slop is usually not good but "lots" is a relative term. Could you maybe record a video, upload it to YouTube and share it with us so we can actually see the slop?

What xsever said.
But enough slop to cause a clunk sound is fairly common. The famous Can-Am clunk is nerve racking but as we get more gentle with throttle transitions it seems to bother us less.
