Dust in cab while driving

I have a '12 Commander XT 800 and I do most of my riding on back country dirt roads. I find it gets extremely dusty inside the cab of my Commander while riding over ~20mph. It is easy to see the dust coming in through the sides of the SxS and up through the space behind the seats between the seats and the dump box, like there is a vacuum inside the cab. It is very disappointing to ride in these conditions, really like my SxS other than that issue but usually end up taking my Outlander when I ride for that reason.
Does anyone else have this problem or a solution? I will mention that I do have the half windshield installed...maybe that makes a difference?? I tried searching the forum for others with this issue but did not find much.

Mine gets dusty also but we live with it. Half windshield and a mesh screen on ours. My 2 cent would be a fold down half windshield like the polaris rzr has. At least you wold see the trail better. Still a great ride! My wife will no longer ride on the outlander.
Don't close off the back without closing the front. You may want to try removing the half front windshield. I have not tried it but heard it helps a lot. Don't know for sure though.

Got a question for you

I'm newbie with an XT 1000

When I ordered the SxS , salesman explained me the benefit of having the rear mesh screen when using a windshield (any type)

I have a bimini roof (soft, retractable) and being fully deployed or not, I have none experience with dust coming back in the cockpit.

So the question is, what kind of accessories you have with your Commander ?

True, it is the windshield that is causing the problem. It creates a negative pressure behind the windshield that draws dust into the cab. I found this same problem when a friend and I went for a ride with our identical side by sides. After the first ten miles we stopped to talk. My side by side had a half windshield, and the entire interior of my side by side was coated with a think choking layer of dust. I walked over to his side by side to talk to him, and his side by side had no dust inside the cab at all, and his side by side did not have a windshield on it. I was shocked at how much difference the windshield made as far as dust in the cab is concerned, so after that trip I removed my half windshield. From then on, no more problems with dust in the cab.
