Hopefully the terrible things i hear about the differentials and such arent true. Anyways any upfront recommendations on the new machine does and donts and such for a first time can am owner?

Congrats,

I followed the guidelines outlined in the owners manual for the first 10 hours varying my speed and avoiding prolonged WOT (if any), then changed the oil/filter and greased all 14 grease zerks @ 25 hours on both of our 570's

There is a youtube guy out there his channel is Christian Amy. He's got some interesting things to say lol about his. He's all about Honda's so I'm not sure if everything he says is viable. Look up his channel and watch his videos you might find some things worth doing. I dont think the L models are the same quality as the regular outlanders.

from what i understood the l model uses the same diff as the 800 and the same 570 engine as the rest just lacks a few features, i think that christian guy is a little off his rocker, he is comparing a rubicon with a manual trans to a cvt which is unfair in itself and the rubicon comes with a much larger price tag im sure it is tougher he bought a utility atv and expected to do renegade things with it.

To say the least. I think if he were to bring it in for warranty work they would laugh him out of the building. I'd be shocked to learn he followed any manufactures guidelines ect. You can break anything if you try hard enough even a precious Honda.

Not to hijack this thread just thought his point of view would at least be entertaining regarding the same bike.

Congrats on your purchase! It's a great machine.
And as far as that dumb ass on you tube that guy is clueless. If your Honda is so great why did you buy a can am? Better yet why did he buy a base model, put 29" tire on it and expect it to perform. If that's what he wanted to do then he should've bought an xmr. Keep thinking your Honda dinasor is all that. Idiot!

Keep the zerk fitting greased on a regular basis. Don't listen to the owners manual which I believe says something like every 1000 miles. Grease the hell out of it to save your self a boat load of money on suspension parts. Takes less than 10 mins once you've done it a few times.

Did you grease the rear driveshaft U joint zerks? Unless the L model differs from the regular outlanders, there should be 16 zerks total.
