I am looking to get a slip on and know it is recommended to also have a programmer. I am by far not even close to being a mechanic. Can a rookie handle this? Can you buy these plug and go? Thanks guys.

If you buy a tuner and Muzzy from vforcejohn he will send directions exactly how his made the best power on his dyno. Mine runs flawlessly on his tune!
This is by far the most brainless way, but there are many other options.

I'm sure others can set up tunes, but I don't read about them ever.
Cool, does he have a website?
vforcejohn.com

He's on vacation this week. If you need info, I think he prefers email this week. He will return e-mails as he gets internet access. Otherwise he answers his phone all the time to walk you thru stuff.
I bought a tuner only from John. I told him what mods/pipes the bike had and he programmed it and sent it to me. Said I may have to adjust it a little one way or the other, but it ran so good the way it was I never messed with it. Checked the plugs a few times over the first couple hundred miles and they couldn't have been much cleaner looking. Johns a great guy to deal with and has returned my calls every time when had an issue/question. When the time comes to upgrade my clutches I will go through John because I know the support that goes with the clutches will be top notch.
I have a HMF Optimizer I just took off my machine because Im going to trade it in. Would part with it for 150.00 (obo)
