Gas can holder suggestions please

The plastic linQ racks on my outlanders make ratcheting a gas can on questionable at best. I'm looking for reliable, easy mounting, and durable can holders specifically for a No Spill 2.5 gallon. Front rack mounting is the plan because accessories currently occupy the rear.

Thinking of just building one with 2x6 lumber in the shape of the can with eye bolts at the top for some sort of straps to go through. Any ideas, design, or product recommendations would be appreciated.

Rotopax look nice. $80 for a two gallon can and a mount does not. Also have my light bar bolted in the front holes on the rack so that takes away a rotopax to sit flat on the rack.

The metal rack on my old L model was far more useful for strapping things down. At least I didn't have to watch the whole rack buckle like the plastic ones do with a ratchet strap.

Easily modified Rotopax standard mount with M10 stud, nut, washers and thumbwheel locates to the rearmost centre hole on the front LinQ rack.

Then 2 x 1 gallon Rotopax mounted atop are rock solid and leave plenty of clearance at the front and enough space on either side to take my Ortleib 22litre dry bags.

Rotopax fuel containers are probably the best on the market but a quick scan through eBay will show similar cans and mounts at more competitive pricing.

This is exactly what I need considering my space requirements in the front. Thanks much. If the "mini" ratchet straps I ordered don't work to hook close to the center of the rack then I guess I'll drop some cash.

Did you have to remove the front rack to attach the modified rotopax mount?

How do they hold up to aggressive riding? Gotta keep up with a dirt bike on occasion.

There's been quite a few different designs out here thru the years, I used to bungy a couple of small cans for longer hauls but grew tired of that. So I went the Linq fuel caddy route. On/off with ease BUT they are pricey.
Here's a link to some of the members ideas, setups and designs.

Rotopax here. Simply used the generic bracket that it came with and got some stainless hardware and it lined up perfect with some holes in the rack works great for me
