High mileage 800

I'm looking at getting a 2009 800 with over 10000 Km's. It seems well maintained with new bearings and u joints. Should I be worried about the mileage? I haven't confirmed the hours but he said 170. Which to me is impossible and he must be mistaken. Doesn't seem to be a mud machine and it does have a plow which worries me. Would think that would add hours.

Any comments would help. Thanks

That's really not that many miles.. And that seems accurate for the hours.. Mine has 190 hours , and 1300+ miles.. People on here have way more miles than thT too. If it's a good bike get it..

Check the frame, at the shock mounts for any cracks, check for major dents and cracks everywhere else too. Drive it, make sure it runs good. Listen to the rear end for any noise.. And check 4wd.. It should be fine.
I have 8050KMs and around 230 hours on my 2012 1000XT. I don't think I'm at high mileage at all. I grease and change oil/ filters often. I see no reason I can't hit 25000+ KMs. Trail rider, not a mud bogger. My KMs are high for my hours because of that. Big logging roads/ rail beds.
My 1k has over 17,000 miles. Runs as good as new and I have never done any motor work to it.
Thx for the advice. I ended up buying it! And yes I guess 10k km is not too high. I am big into maintenance so I should have this for many more km.

There were a couple surprises, like always. But not too bad. First it was a 2007 not a 2009. The four bearings and rear u joint were just done. It needs front a arm bushing. Other then that it runs great. You can tell this wasn't a mud machine! Oh yeah, I paid 3900. I think that's a great deal.

I always wanted this bike for the looks. But after driving it, I want it for the ride! What an upgrade!
Congrats, Buy Garage Products bushings and you will never need to replace them again.

Congrats! You are now obligated to post pics of the new beast! Where are you from?
I guess you're right. Here's a pic. Some minor TLC and I got a nice machine.
