Hi guys....I have a 1000xt yellow which has some dull spots in the plastic. How the heck do you get this plastic to look new again???I have tried a few products but doesn't do a thing. The black plastic is the tire foam but what about the yellow body? Thanks!

i used harley leather cleaner
I use WD-40 on everything. Spray it on a rag and wipe her down. Just not the seat!

does it make it sticky when it drys?
a light coat of chainsaw bar oil should make it shine, or any oil for that matter.
No not sticky at all. Where it works really well is on the black plastic. Makes it nice and shiny
X2 on wd40! That's all I've used for years on my grizzly and works great! Muds easier to clean off, it's cheap and does the job.
One thing I notice is in dusty conditions the dust sticks to it. But yes I agree come bath time dirt slides right off.
I'd like to know what process they use in production to get the gloss on the plastic. It's pretty fragile whatever it is. I used a 3M citrus cleaner to remove some adhesive from a warning label and it ate through the gloss and left the plastic dull. This stuff is made to be safe for all auto finishes, but apparently not this Can Am plastic.
Anyone used a clear coat spray paint?
Depends why its dull. If its from something rubbing it like your leg or boot no rub on item will bring the shine back you would have to get a plastic restore kit and sand it down and reprep it.. As far as getting plastic to shine good I've used armor all protectant

This is what I used to use on my old atv's havent had to buy it in awhile so not sure if they still make it. Worked well tho now that I have painted plastic on my xt I use a paste wax on it

Tire shine!!!
Literally spray every part of the bike with it.. Except the seat.. After the bubbles go away I wipe it down and it shines like crazy.. Acts like a wax too.. Makes cleaning easier.
X2 on tire shine works AWSOME !!
i use simonz tire foam ... spray the hole bike and just wait for it to drip dry in a shaded area and it will blow your mine how much it shines
X3 on the tire shine works great!
Sc1 works great. It is definitely tough if you lost the clear coat from the plastic. Sc1 works even without the clear coat.

I was an avid user of tire shine products until I tried Maxima SC-1. I still use tire shine on the tires and the underside fenders, but the topside gets the SC-1, its works great.
Sc-1 ?

I tried sc-1 on a small spot on my fender and I thought it dulled it compared to what it looked like when new....maybe I didn't apply it correctly?
I spray it all over, let it sit for 15 min or so and then wipe down with micro fibre cloth. Its doesn't leave as bright of a shine as the tire shines do but its minor. I find it repels dirt better and doesn't leave an oily film behind like the tire stuff. Tire stuff always seemed wet/oily on the plastics which is what I didn't like. I get about 3 full spray downs out of a can, where the tire shine I might get 2. But it does cost more, $12/can. Usually you can find tire stuff on sale for about $5.
