Reflash ECU and add a aluminum type tape insulation underside of console

 

What will reflashing the ECU do?

 

Reflashing will add some fuel to the lean epa tune. It will turn the fan on at a lower temperature. The engine runs dramatically cooler.

On my atv if I dare wore shorts I would get serious burns on my inner calves and ankles. I can wear shorts and sandles now without issue.

 

Go to D.E.I website, they have a lot of different things to insulate the cabin and wrap the exhaust. They have high quality stuff....A reflash will add more fuel to the engine to make the engine run cooler and it will also turn your radiator fan on sooner which will lower the engine temperatures.

 

Thanks. I'm guessing I would need the dealer for the reflash. Not sure if our local shops will have the tools for this.

I bet a few of the reply are because people did not realize u were in a sxs... after driving one the other day I can see how hot it gets... my first observation was everytime the fan kicks in allot of the hot air finds its way into the cab. I would look for any seam or panel that is leaking and silicone and tape it up to block the hot air... some peal and stick sound deadening/heat mat above the engine area should block allot as well

I appreciate that. I did order the Heat shield kit from DEI and will have it all apart when I install it. So I will be looking at your suggestion at the same time.
