Key was ran over!!

Long story short i left the key on the bedrail of my truck and drove off, i found it an hour later but it had been ran over, i tried it in the bike and it seams to be working fine but i want to kno where the chip is in the key. The part of the key that goes into the ignition swithc was un damaged but the body of it is crushed under the rubber.. Im worried that the key might crap out at some random time leaving me stranded. Any one else think so?
