My buddy had is 2020 XC sport serviced, they were changing gearbox oil and found this when they pulled the plug.
There are no symptoms, drives fine. I checked the parts diagram and don't even see this part in the gearbox. They say he needs a new gearbox. Any thoughts...

Looks like the reverse chain broke. Id pull it apart and rebuild it. Not hard to do.
