motor surges off idle

I have a 2008 outlander xt. it starts & idles at 1250 +/- 100. it has a programmer/fuel optimizer, hmf pipe, sitting on 30" silverbacks. after it gets warmed up it surges off idle. if it is past 1/5 throttle it will die unless you get off throttle but it will idle all day. I checked vent lines, cleaned k/n air filter, put new fuel filter, plugs & took fuel cap off while riding, nothing helped. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your fuel pressure, when you first turn on( when pump primes) then start it and see what you have at idle, then go ahead and give it some throttle and see what your pressure does. It should stay at 50-51psi if not, your fuel pump is shot. Easy fix though and not expensive if you follow advice on this site and get the pump through your local auto parts dealer. You can rent a fuel pressure gauge through auto zone for free fyi . Let us know what your pressure is at.
Disconnect the fuel optimizer and see what happens

sorry for not replying sooner got hurt. today I put fuel pressure gauge on it. stays at 50 psi for about 45 min then will fluctuate from 20-50. runs perfect for first 45 min. under riding conditions it will slow down but not die if I'm not on throttle much. if I've got throttle about 1/2 cracked it will die if I don't jump out of it. it will keep idling with idle changing about 300 rpm as fuel pressure rise & falls. I'm leaning at pump. never seen regulator act like that. :tools1:
