Even though my truck pic doesn't show it because the ATV is in the bed and sagging the rear of the truck, the rear of my truck sits up pretty high. I would be concerned about bottoming out. If they do clear, the one piece ramp looks great!
My truck is an FX4 and like you, I have the Max model Outlander. I actually have the long version of the ramp. My bike doesn’t bottom out.

Time for a lift kit! :p

Hi all!

Part 1:
Question for you guys, we recently moved and with that, I've lost convenient access to my trailer. I'm looking into getting a truck for other reasons as well, but one thought was to use it to transport the Outty as well. Everything I've read so far says that my 500 XT will fit in a long box with no issue. I've seen posts where people have put a 500cc in a short box, (like 6.5 foot), but it sits on the tailgate. Not sure I'm comfortable with that, I was hoping to avoid a long box, just for the size of the truck though.
I've also read where guys have built a frame/platform for the smaller box, so that the Outty can sit on that, which extends to the tailgate.

Part 2:
For those that live in the Midwest or ice fish, how to transport your house and the Outty? With the trailer it was easy, but now, i've been thinking.... I have an Otter XT Lodge. Once the truck is all figured out, I was thinking of either a raised platform to get the Outty on top, then slide the house in under it... or, getting a hitch mounted cargo carrier and strap the house to that.

If you have pics or anything for an idea please do share.

Thanks!
Shaun

One thing that I would highly recommend all you guys that haul your rides in the back of your truck is to get a set of the DG Tailgate Supports for loading and unloading and if your tires rest on the tailgate, I left mine on during transit. The small tailgate cables have been known to fail and you don't want to deal with that.

Thank you!!! I had not heard of the tailgate supports! Excellent idea. I just watched a YouTube video on them. So so simple!

I had a 2012 Outlander 400 max and currently have a 2017 Outlander 570 max and they both fit in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab with 6.5' box. On both machines the rear wheels sat in the gap between the truck bed and the tailgate. Never had an issue. I traded the Dodge for a 2018 Silverado 1500 extended cab with the 6.5' box and while I never put the Can Am in it I was able to fit a 2016 or 2020 Polaris Sportsman 570 in it with the tailgate closed. I just traded the Chevy for a 2021 Ram 1500 crew cab with 6.5 box and while I haven't put any machines in it I found out the the Ram 6.5 box is only 6' 4". I never put a tape measure to my old Dodge or Chevy but it got me to wondeeing if the true length of those beds was 6.5 or not, or is it just a Dodge thing? Or is it shorter on my current truck because its a crew cab rather than the extended cabs I had on my two previous trucks?

That looks great but I’m afraid it would be too much weight up high on my 150.
i would agree to it being too much weight for the 150/1500 class trucks
