Long story short. I have a 2012 outlander 1000. Rearend starting making noise around 1000 miles. Full of metal and pinion gear coming apart. So bought a new one online from a can am dealer in TX. Put it on double checking everthing. IM a ford tech by trade and been working on 4 wheelers forever. Soon as i put it on notice its very noisy . Humming bad. louder the fast you go. I finally got pulled it apart again and drained the oil and the metalic in the oil bad. From what ive rear this is a reoccuring problem with the can am rear end. Would it even be worth it to call can am? Im not to happy about a brand new 800 part messed up from the factory. Ive bought can am since 07 and lover their product but me eating this rear diff is not something that i should be doing in my opinion. WHats yall take on this?

I would start by calling the place you bought it and see if you get any action. If they won't warranty it, then go up the chain.
Yea i called them today right after i put this up. And just as i suspected they are not going to help at all. They said its been too long. ANd a "certified tech" didnt put it on. WHich i understand because i am a certified ford tech. But when you buy something from ford no matter what it is it has a factory warranty on that part. If i would be dropping this in a mud hole with 30 inch tires i would have a different outlook on this situation. because i dont i have stock tires since new and strickly trail ride and hunt with this atv. Guess its time for me to call can am customer service?
I doubt the customer service helps either...I hope ur not sh*t out of luck...let us know what happens..
Good luck man, hope you get some resolve, but be prepared for a let down. At least see if canam will look into the dealer that probibly sold you a bad part they paid the dealer to waranty on someone else's machine in the first place.
I have a feeling im in for a let down too guys. I dont even want to call them and waste my time but you never know.
