I have a 2012 can am commander 800 xt has a duel muzzy exhaust and optimizer and it has been acting up to the point it gives you a headache when under hard acceleration it seems like it’s missing then I won’t get over 6k rpm and then sometimes when even trying to come off a idle it will back fire threw the intake and stumble then it will pick up and go and at other times it will run like a scalded ape i rencently put 30 in tires on thought that may be the issue put a epi clutch kit in and no difference I have drained and cleaned the fuel tank put good fresh 93 octane fuel in ran great killed it for about 30 min got back on and it went to running like crap again does anyone think this could be the fuel pump ? And I have taken the throttle body off and cleaned it and if this helps I just put the exhaust and stuff on as well second hand I thought maybe the optimizer but when I unplugged it it made it way worse so now I’m at a stand still any help would be great thanks

Welcome to the site.

I'd also suspect your fuel pump here. Do you have a way to monitor fuel pressure while it's doing this? Those "early" fuel pumps were known for having issues after some years/hours

Glad to hear it.

Yeah, those "early" canam fuel pumps are often the issue, especially when you're not getting any codes/error messages.

So I have a 2015 can am xt 1000 and im having similar type issues. Every now and then it will studder at higher speeds then pick itself back up. But today started cutting out at 60 kph and wont go any faster just tops out at that speed. There are no codes on dash besides the regular maintenance required message for service?
