Picked up a Can Am outlander 800rXMR and loving it so far. Got a set of 1.5" solid aluminum wheel spacers and a Looney Tunes slip on and it sounds great imo. Question is do I need to run a programmer with it? I've heard some guys say yes and some say no. I'm not looking for gains atm I'm just looking for a nice deep sound. I've run it for a short distance and didn't notice any backfire or poping while running or when starting.

My opinion I think you need a programmer, it can pay for itself down the road when you decide to upgrade internals on your motor, air intake etc, I've never ran a pipe (slip on or full) without it. Everyone has their opinions on this, but if you want your Outty to run to the optimal level it should have one. Just my $.02. Have fun with the pipe, nothing sounds better than an uncorked v-twin, luv it!!!
Thanks for the input I guess I will be looking into picking one up in the near future.
