Its only 14 months old, but my 3500 lb warn works great.

 

There are a lot of good winches out there. If you do your research, look for sealed units with brakes (you'd be surprised how some of the cheaper units don't come with either. Warn is a solid choice.

 

I'd go warn if you don't mind the price tag. I've used them but never owned one myself. I had some superwinch 3500 steel cable ones when I had my quads and after 4 years the only thing I had die was 1 solenoid and that's my own fault for not sealing up it's mounting location. Deep water riding and trunk box filled with water. 1 quad plowed snow in the winter so a lot of use there and they both pulled me out of more bad situations than I can count. Got a defender xmr now and the factory 4500lb has been put to the test and still going strong 2.5 years later.

When I next swap mine, I'm thinking about a "Warn Replacement Winch". You keep everything on the bike as-is, the thumb switch, contactor, wiring, etc. Just buy the winch body itself. Like this:
