i recently did an oil change on my 2017 can am outlander 1000 xmr .i viewed several vids on how to .Still made small mess but was successful.Bought th recommended can am oil change kit ,it was semi -synthetic a "BLEND" of 5w-40..And recommended diff fluid and trans fluid .all those were good GL-5 products like my dodge cummins axles and trans -heavy duty. Why is engine oil a BLEND and not just full synthetic??

I never use a blended oil, full synthetic all the time. As for making a mess, shit happens and it is very hard not to.

Congrats on making a "little" mess .
I've been changing my own fluids in these bikes over 10 years and have tried everything to not make a mess .
I don't even bother any more .
I just jack up the clutch side of the bike on cardboard and catch what I can.
Wash things thoroughly with Dawn & a grout brush afterward.
