Im thinking of buying one of these, and have tried searching for info on removing that 78 mph speed limiter that I have read about on these.
Just wondering what there is out there, thats reasonable and works.
Dont neccesarily need to go faster, just nice to know when you buya big machine they dont handcuff the top speed with what a smaller machine could do.
Thanks

What's your bike in for? My rear output seal is leaking oil I see.. I looked at rear output seal on my commander 1000 and it's sweating a tiny bit to. That seal may be a problem on these 1000 transfer cases..

Just got back from a ride speed boxes works great what it actually does is when you hit 110kmph it cuts the speed in half and only shows 55 on the dash making the computer think it has lots to go and not triggering the limiter very happy with it at this point thanks get torqued for a great product defiantly deal with them again

All it's doing is taking the pulse and chopping it in half, so yes it will go up.

As a temp fix I'll just put a switch on mine if I need to go over 77, hopefully it doesn't throw limp home mode just check engine - no speed or something.

I don't know when I'll get to work on it, but i definately have enough parts to do this.... ($1000 in electronics and soldering equipment... lol)

Another thing you can do is buy this.. ALOT CHEAPER and customizable (I may buy it and hack it to make them for you guys)

You can theoretically hit 154mph with this yellr box, your ECM will think your going 77 if you could hit 154, your speedo would show 77 aswell, that's the crappy thing, so yes GPS will be needed if you want to know your speed.

My Renegade X XC 1000 just hit the speed limiter today on sandy loose gravel. It only has 3.5 hrs on it, so its only going to hit it more often in the future as it breaks in! :)

Once it cuts it in half it still climbs so you no how fast your going ex if the dash is readin 70 your really doing 130. I'm happy with the product seems to be very effective and easy to install

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of getting one but Tune monster just announced they have a unit coming out that does both timing and speed over ride.
I keep hearing there is little gains in timing on the 1000 but I think if cams were in my future adding timing is a must because the stock ecu does major timing retard near 8000 rpms. Without being able to negate the ecu retard cams won't perform as expected.
