outlander 650 bottom end blown up... possibly parting out?

I have a 2011 outlander 650xt and the motor is junk... Don't know what to do with it... dealer estimated it to be $3600 to fix it... Not really worth it in my perspective... Should I part it out? Sell it out right? Find a motor? it only has 1500 miles and every part on it is in good condition...

Thats always a tough answer. Do you want that machine? Can you do any of the repair work your self? Do you need it right away, use it every day, how long can you be with out it? If the rest of the machine is in great shape, thats a plus. If you sell it outright everyone is going to want it dirt cheap. If you part it out, you will get more money, but could take a very ling time and you have to deal with alot of people. What is your time worth to you? What is the machine worth in your area in good running condition? How good does your dealer stand behind the repairs? If you repair it will you be happy with it? I know alot of people who get something major repaired and then complain about it all the time or are always paranoid about it, and then sell it anyway, why repair it then? So get out your paper and pencil and start two columns on why you should repair it and why you shouldnt. Sorry I cant give you a straight answer, good luck.
Maybe check with some other respected engine builders such as MrRpm. I'm sure unless the motor went through a wood chipper he would be a good deal cheaper than the dealer. Griffin Performance is a vendor on here too but I have never dealt with them.
