New member here going to pick up a 570 L next week. I'm upgrading from a 2006 arctic cat 400. This rig should be perfect for some hunting/trail riding and plowing the drive.

**** that bumper..i would put some skid plates on it first to protect your investment!!!

skid plates dont cover your headlights, you need both. i have a bunch of gouges on mine already from the stock tires not giving you any ground clearance. the plastic ends are tougher than they look they have taken a bunch of hits and the only thing that has happened is the crew came out of the one side, the brp screws are tiny and i put some longer ones in

Headlights don't protect your frame.

why i said "you need both" if you look, and the rear ones i got are wide enough to protect the cv's alot of the ones i looked at dont

I don't ride with outer cv guards in the rear at all. their effectiveness is debatable, and when I run tracks all cv skids come off. The hardware has to go there.

There's the theory that they trap stuff and cause more damage.

skids first....more at stake to damage underneath. buy a headlight or puncture your transmission, engine or differential cases...........no brainer

if you want to ride naked thats up to you, but i dont want to buy any of that. so i didnt ride till i had both, and both have the same number of dents

protection

i agree..you should have both for protection. i went with skids first because they were more important to me. bumpers are nice but i got mine mainly for the look because there was nothing there. i like my le bumper, its all i need. i don't tend to run into things too much, once in a while i will kiss a tree but nothing major and i ride alot of narrow woods trails.

you have to keep them clean, mud and clay will ruin your boots, but it will ruin your seals too, control arm bushings, and bearings. you have to hose all that out after every muddy ride, so i just make sure all that is clear. it depend where you ride. i had my prairie a week before i had a stick go through the plastic cv guard and i got a new boot, the manual, and aluminum cv's after that never had another one go. but i had sticks go through my fenders (300 bucks ), had a big metal bumper and skids on that but still got pushed into the plastics a few times and the fenders poked out a little and had to replace the fender extensions a few times

I brought my Outty home and shoved a stick through a boot the next day. Ripped the guards off and have been fine since.

plastic is as good as nothing IMO, got the aluminum ones that go under everything, floorboards, cv's, etc

if you do have nothing and its been fine that just means you are lucky not good to go. until your luck changes
