Outlander l shock upgrade fox

Nobody can confirm that fox shocks fit on an outlander l model. Can-am doesn't list the l model as fitting with the $580 dollar fox shocks. I have a 2015 outlander l 500 max and they fit. Good news. I risked it and it is a direct easy fit. I had a super atv lift and removed it because the shocks lifted my machine another 2 inches because of spring. I took like an inch off the preload they came with. The rear lift bracket hit a little bit the stock mounts are fine. I can actually monster truck over obstacles now. I wish someone confirmed the fit sooner. A must upgrade for outlander l. I found myself bottoming out a ton in New Hampshire. I will confirm performance after next long ride. It resulted in about an inch of lift over stock I would say. Anyone want to buy my stock shocks?

That's my next purchase. I had asked skeeter about them awhile ago. Can't wait because the stock shocks suck.

Ok perfect. I added A 1" spring spacer to mine so shouldn't be to much different.

i thought you were happy with your spacer stitches?? quote from my messages

No I think it came out wrong the way I said it. You were saying they are about an 1" difference in height. I was just saying that I added the spacers to the stocks shocks so the fox ones should be the same height. That's what I meant :th_smiliethumbsup:

I'll post them. I'm riding at the club I belong to next Friday so I'll have a good chance to test them.

Judging by how much they have the pre-load jacked up, all they pretty much care about is ground clearance. A set of four rebar found at Home Depot cut to size could have accomplished what they set out to do. LOL

I could care less about clearance. The issue is stockers bottoming out. I want to be able to ride comfortable on rugged terrain. And horrible nose dive during braking. My front skid is horrible due to unacceptable stock diving. I raised it to avoid lower shock travel that was making front frame get way too low. Shocks actually absorb now. I paid $360 for my setup. If searching internet had $950 shocks show up after months of searching I would have done it. I actually turned down preload greatly from how they came in.

Totally agree with you.

didn't do mine for clearance either but it turned out to be a great perk for getting fox shocks!! i put a winch on at around 100 miles and my stock front bash plate was already twisted and bent from the front diving and bottoming out.
terrible stockers

The fox shocks sound good. A little to much dive bombing for a 240lb guy. Is there any tricks or tips for installation?

Agreed. It is easy. Just need 15 mm wrench and ratchet. Easy off. I have been using chain lube on bushings to reduce squeaking. Re use stock bolts and good to go. Lift up machine. Do rear with both wheels off. You will fight the sway bar if you put wheels on early. True for any shocks. Gp shocks look good too. Can the be rebuilt?

Hey can you guys post where you have them set at and what kind of riding you do after you have some time on them. I'll do the same. I can't find anything about setup on these. Thanks.

i have played with them some...i went a little softer then a little harder.
pretty much back to stock setting.
i couldn't find anything on these also for setup so i called fox directly and spoke with a guy, he said you have 1/2 of an inch either way to play with.
fox considers these to be oem shocks for can am so there is little on them.

I have them on my 2015 Outlander 800 XMR. Its worth watching the video I posted if you plan on running these Podiums on an Outlander.

Summary: Podium springs are equipped with factory Renegade XXC springs, I swapped my Outlander XMR springs on them because they sagged over the course of a year. I'm sure they would be just fine on the lighter Renegade which is what they are meant for. The podiums are 1/3 the weight of the factory Low Pressure gas shocks and have a lot more travel.
