They go in reverse from the factory Shock/Spring. Look at the Renegades and 850 XMR, same way.

Got them on! They look great. Left them in the factory settings for now. I'm going riding Friday all day so I'll see how they do. I'll update.

So I got to test out the fox podiums yesterday. And I am very happy with them. riding on rocky/rutted trails the suspension took the bounce out of the machine. I would find with the old shocks the fronts would bottom out and the rear would bounce around causing the quad to feel like it was all over the place.The fox shocks seemed to absorbe this therefore keeping the quad straight. Never felt like I was out of control. Any hard dips in the trails the front shocks took it and kept it level. Old shock in that situation would go in hard and throw the bike in the air nose first. I did find the front factory setting Alittle to stiff.so I'll probably soften them a 1/2" or so and see what that does. But over all very happy.night and day from stocks. :th_smiliethumbsup:

Thanks for the review but I want to add if you have a outlander max you need to use the stock springs on the back or it will be to soft for 2 up riding , on the max it has a stronger spring over the 1 up in the rear and you will make it worse but I'm happy to report if you switch the spring all is well

Mine is not the max. Just a 1 up. Good to know anyways.

Well I ordered these shocks a couple of months ago and went to install them today. Got the fronts on and moved to the back. Got the oem rears out and noticed that they sent me a box with four front shocks. :squint:

Actually, on further inspection I found the following:

The instruction manual lists the following part numbers:

706201266 - Front Shock
706000954 - Rear Shock

The fronts are on and I can't see the part number to check, but the other two shocks I received have the following part number: 706000864

This comes back as a Renegade rear shock when I do a web search. Here's the problem. I may be really dumb here as I've never installed shocks before but shouldn't the bottom eyelet be rotated 90 degrees? They are both oriented in the same direction and will not fit. Can I just put the top in and rotate the bottom until it is oriented correctly?

Pretty sure yes. Put a screwdriver in both ands and twist. If it doesn't budge you have a problem. Pretty positive there is no key way in there.

Went out on first ride and noticed massive difference. I did jack them up a bit because I smashed some rocks on font end. And bottomed out more than I would have liked. Definitely WAY Better than stock. We rode hard. Riding 20mph was the sweet spot. Cornered and stopped with better feel. Felt way better on rugged rock sections.

Nobody can confirm that fox shocks fit on an outlander l model. Can-am doesn't list the l model as fitting with the $580 dollar fox shocks. I have a 2015 outlander l 500 max and they fit. Good news. I risked it and it is a direct easy fit. I had a super atv lift and removed it because the shocks lifted my machine another 2 inches because of spring. I took like an inch off the preload they came with. The rear lift bracket hit a little bit the stock mounts are fine. I can actually monster truck over obstacles now. I wish someone confirmed the fit sooner. A must upgrade for outlander l. I found myself bottoming out a ton in New Hampshire. I will confirm performance after next long ride. It resulted in about an inch of lift over stock I would say. Anyone want to buy my stock shocks?

JaronsToy said in a post on here if you have a max you have to use the stock rear springs. The springs that come with the fox are a renegade spring.
Maybe he will respond to clear it up. But as far as them fitting, yes.

Super happy this thread is right near the top. I recently blew out the R/F shock on my wheeler Sat Night and after a little research decided these might be a great upgrade over my stock ones with the spacer lift.

I ordered them Sun and should have them by Wednesday. Glad all you guys are having Goodluck deff makes me feel better about the purchase. Guess I'll leave out the spacers lol

I will update after next ride. Last ride, my first in new shocks was much better. A little soft. But I will see next ride if it is better turned up more. Did great crawling on rocks. Speed was more stable and way less front end divey
