live on the creek in fl can am spent 2 weeks under flood water.
un swamped it and now it starts and runs, but the primary clutch does not close up and engage belt.
i think it is rusted open, but i can not get the left handed bolt out to remove clutch. wd 40 will not get to the threads at a 45 degree angle.
have tried 2 different size powerful impacts no help.
q how can i get this bolt out?
thanks
hi all
it is a 08 out-lander 400 auto.
the impact i used was a rigid battery, and a electric heavy duty.
i am guessing the treads are rusted as there was a lot of torque in the electric one.
i thought about using a breaker bar, but fear breaking off the bolt, and do not have a clutch holder.
thanks to all of those who responded.

it was not salt water, it was shitty water from the creek and all the septic systems up stream.
it was under for 2 weeks and then sat long enough to dry up and rust.
thanks
We had a member that bought a submerged Outlander. He took it on as a winter project and took it completely apart. Lots of work, but satisfying and successful.
I've bought and fixed a lot of riding mower this past year. They get parked out of sight, weeds try and devour them, and a wife finally nags them into putting it on craigslist. Can be bought cheaply, but you have to wait a couple of years.
